How to read it

The wide ribbon is the span of years each person was active, lettered with their name. The thin line below it runs from birth to death, with markers for the first work, the peak and the last work. A film career and a music career that overlap are marked in saffron, and each pair gets a line saying exactly how many years they shared.

Start from a date instead: find who shares your day, tick up to four names and they arrive here already lined up.
