Jim Reeves
Music: singer, songwriter, United States
Jim Reeves was an American country and popular music singer known affectionately as Gentleman Jim for his warm, velvety baritone. A central architect of the smooth Nashville sound of the late 1950s and 1960s, Reeves achieved international pop crossover success with songs like Four Walls and his signature hit He'll Have to Go. His recordings maintained massive popularity throughout the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Scandinavia. Reeves's career ended when the private aircraft he was piloting went down in dense fog near Brentwood, Tennessee, in July 1964 when he was forty years old.
