Kirk Douglas
Film: actor, producer, United States
Kirk Douglas was one of the most compelling and athletic leading men of classic Hollywood cinema, renowned for his intense, explosive performances and cleft-chinned resolve. Emerging in post-war film noir, he quickly established himself as a versatile force across dramas, Westerns and historical epics. Through his independent production company, Bryna Productions, he took bold artistic risks, collaborating with visionary directors such as Stanley Kubrick and famously helping to break the Hollywood blacklist by publicly crediting screenwriter Dalton Trumbo on Spartacus. His career spanned more than six decades before he died peacefully at his home in Beverly Hills in 2020 at the remarkable age of 103.
