Jimi Hendrix
Music: guitarist, singer, songwriter, composer, United States
James Marshall Hendrix was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter celebrated as the most influential electric guitarist in musical history. After working on the rhythm-and-blues circuit, he relocated to London in 1966 and formed The Jimi Hendrix Experience, achieving rapid critical acclaim across Europe. His pioneering exploitation of amplifier feedback, wah-wah pedals, and studio engineering radically expanded the sonic possibilities of rock music. Headlining legendary events at Monterey and Woodstock, he produced seminal works such as Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland in a few astonishing years. He passed away from accidental asphyxiation in London in September 1970 at the age of twenty-seven.
