Renowned for his melodic restraint and pioneering adoption of Indian classical instruments such as the sitar, he penned classic tracks including Here Comes the Sun and Something. He embarked on an acclaimed solo career upon the band's split, releasing the acclaimed triple album All Things Must Pass in 1970 and organising the historic Concert for Bangladesh. Later founding HandMade Films, he financed celebrated independent British cinema before forming the Traveling Wilburys in the late 1980s. Harrison succumbed to cancer in Los Angeles in 2001.
