Sharon Tate
Film: actress, United States
Sharon Tate was an American actress and fashion model whose poised charm and screen presence made her an emblem of late-1960s cinema. After early television appearances, she made her major film debut in Eye of the Devil before starring in Roman Polanski's cult horror comedy The Fearless Vampire Killers. Tate achieved wider acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Jennifer North in the 1967 drama Valley of the Dolls, followed by a comedic turn alongside Dean Martin in The Wrecking Crew. Her promising career and young life were brutally cut short in August 1969, when she was murdered at her home in Los Angeles at the age of twenty-six.
